Sharon Elizabeth Photography specializes in High School Senior photography in Connecticut.
Sometime at the end of your junior year, you'll get information from your school on getting your yearbook photo taken. You'll be herded in at 20 minute intervals and snap, snap, snap... all the same poses as the person before you. Blahh!! After that, give me a call for the experience of your year. With Sharon Elizabeth Photography, you will be the star. Everything from your outfits, location, props, and posing will be about you!
When you have your senior portrait session with me, you and your personality are the most important thing. You'll have the opportunity to change outfits - to be dressed up, casual, and even include your sport uniform. Pick locations that are meaningful to you - or I can help you decide where to go. Since we'll photograph on location, the possibilities are endless!
There are several fun events to be done in your senior year. You'll go to your prom, you'll order your yearbook, get your cap and gown, think about your path in life, and of course, have your senior portraits made. Choosing a photographer that will do more than simply take your picture is important. You'll want to pick someone who will make it an event - something completely personalized and exciting for you!
Why is having Senior Portraits important?
It's a once in a lifetime experience. Graduating high school is the last milestone of your childhood. After graduation, you are a young adult - whether it's off to college or starting a full-time career, documenting this time in your life is essential, both for you and your parents. You'll want to remember who you were at this time. High school may have been the most fun time of your life, or you may have had some rough patches, but trust me, in 10 years, you'll want to look back at the time when you were young, free and in control of your destiny.
I have a friend with a great camera who will do it for free - shouldn't I let them?
Having a good digital camera doesn't mean you'll get an amazing portrait. Even iphones have the technology to get nice pictures. Great for selfies or snapping on the go... but getting an awesome portrait is only 10% equipment - the rest is knowing how to use it. It takes training, talent and knowledge. It's about posing, lighting, post-processing as well. It's also about having access to professional labs that produce the highest quality prints and products. High School Senior portraits are an investment, but don't trust your important memories to anyone but a professional.
I'm not comfortable in front of the camera. I'm afraid of what I'll look like!
No cheesy smiles, no silly poses. If it helps to have a friend along for moral support, bring them! If you want your ipod blasting music to get you feelin' it... bring it along. I'll talk you through the whole thing. Soon enough you'll be working it like a New York model!
Great... I woke up on the day of my photo session with a huge pimple with it's own zip code!
Not to worry! Blemishes and skin imperfections are a snap for me to fix in post-processing. You'll never even know it was there. An average amount of re-touching is done at no extra charge.
When should I have my senior portraits done?
Usually senior portraits are taken at the end of your junior year through the fall of your senior year. You won't believe how busy you get if you wait until the spring of your senior year. It's never too late, though! We also have options for mini sessions for graduation announcements available in April and May. A BFF Session is also a great idea for you and your girlfriends the summer before you head off to college. Check out our Senior Session page for more information.
What can help me make my senior pictures look amazing?
Picking your wardrobe is extremely important. I can definitely help you with that. We can set up a Pinterest mood board for inspiration, text outfit options, or even have an in-person consultation about your wardrobe. Click HERE to view my Senior Style Guide. I highly recommend getting your hair and makeup professionally done. Professional make up artists know what looks best in photographs, and the palette that will look good on you to compliment your hair and eye color and skin tone. After all, these photos will be around forever, and this isn't just an ordinary photo session! You can choose one on your own or I can hook you up with some great stylists.
Do you have evening and weekend appointments?
